Committee Blog // New Website!
Hello and welcome to the brand new site! After much work from our teams it is almost ready, and as such I wanted to highlight a few of the features that you will get to use.
- Show Pages
The biggest innovation is that now all members can have a show page, which will be a hub for everything about your show, not only linking to your show elsewhere on the web - facebook, mixcloud, your own website, pretty much whatever you want - but will provide an easy way for you to blog and communicate with your audience. More importantly however, any audio content posted to your blog will automatically form part of your podcast feed - taking all the hassle out of podcasting! Aside from this, having your show details in one place means that we can start cross promoting shows, recommending listening and featuring your show on the front page - the possibilities are endless. Updated details on how to use these features will start to appear on the new wiki. The added bonus of this is you can make as many shows as you like - without having to have them officially scheduled you can create shows in studio 2 and post them to your show page, meaning that you can broadcast 365 days a year!
- Members Area
A new members' dashboard now features direct links to everything you need, making everything incredibly easy to find at the touch of a button. If you have joined up with the arts, news and music teams, you will see special buttons appear on this page that let you submit 'official' fresh air content. Here, there is also a brief message from the committee for things like meeting venues and other important details, and a basic indication of the studio status - letting you know if everything is working before you get to the studio. From here you will eventually be able to submit problems with the studio, meaning that problems will get sorted out sooner rather than later.
There's plenty more on the way, but for now, have a play with what we've got on offer, and get making your show pages, and start blogging!
